Other Characters: Benson, Chipotle, Lucius
Name: The Mayor
From: Original character
Appearance: Either a floating blob of constantly moving, dripping ink; or a skinny young man with slicked back hair, a white suit covered with ink stains, pupils made of ink splashes and uncomfortably long and sharp fingers.
Age: Ageless and immortal, but he’s at the mental state of an impatient 20 year old.
Gender: Male
Personality: *totally copy/pasting this from the game info*
The commanding force behind Ink City’s existence is a sentient blob of ink who simply refers to himself as the The Mayor. He is a personification of both the creative and sadistic sides of writers/artists. As the maintainer of the City’s reality; he is a dangerous force to be reckoned with.
The Mayor is not necessarily good at his job, he often allows glitches in the City to occur, and fails to keep an eye on all of the civilians. Despite this, he keeps a high opinion of himself to the point of god-like status. He’s egotistical, uncaring, and doesn’t like to be disregarded or underestimated. And yet in contrast to his dictator authority, he tries his best to make Ink City mimic a natural society and world. His powers work in big and small ways in an attempt to make the world aesthetically pleasing- there are 4 seasons, day and night switch normally, and the entire terrain has been created by himself. He can be considered in charge of the “background” of the world.
He also has a vague understanding of why he was created to make Ink City, and why everyone is being plucked from distant worlds. He understands everything beyond the 4th wall, to an extent. He doesn’t question the powers at work, he merely complies with their whims and fulfills his function. It’s through his help that characters and their homes are being brought here, but he’s unable to control who stays and who goes in the City without the aid of these “Greater Powers beyond the 4th Wall”. Despite the fact that he’s merely existing to do a job, The Mayor genuinely enjoys it. He finds every character to be endlessly intriguing and entertaining. He’s not very good at keeping secrets about the City’s inner workings, partially out of pride and partially out of an impulsive inability to keep his mouth shut.
The Mayor may be a creature of absolute power, but he’s a slave to the City as well.
Backstory: Created rather recently, along with the entirety of Ink City. Originally just a blank slate floating out in the middle of space, the Mayor molded it into the world we see now. As he was finalizing his project, he was assisted by his sibling, a being made entirely of paint. She acted as the foil to her brother, and added color and life to his initial creation. As soon as people began appearing in the City, the Mayor remained out of sight, watching from the shadows and making sure that he was fulfilling his job properly. As time went on, however, he realized that he would never be able to control their rowdy personalities, and let the citizens of Ink City do as they wished; all while keeping in line with the Greater Power’s orders. He still remains at a usual distance from the City, attempting to remain secretive but ultimately becoming just as much a part of the City as the Inkarcerated themselves.
Moral Standing: Neutral, though he naturally has some evil tendencies and view points. He respects order and balance, but often fails to have that himself.
Dreams: He simply wishes to follow the wishes of his superiors, and to be respected by the citizens of Ink City for all the hard work he’s done.
Fears: Ink City falling apart on a physical level, and failing to perform his tasks.
Extra:
-He can control the Ink Monsters to his whim, but there are often a few that are wandering the world, even when he’s not around. They won’t attack unless provoked or commanded.
-His long, claw-like fingers can drip with Ink and be used as tools to create small, personality-less beings (such as birds), and he can also use his abilities to heal wounds on citizens in the City. He’s never been around or had a reason to do so, yet.
-The only person he seems to regard as a person and an equal is his sibling, while the citizens of the City are considered on a lower level.
Samples: UHHHH, he’s been in a few logs and things?
Writing Sample: Remember this?
